Sculptor: Michael Simpson

This beautiful design is made in solid foundry bronze using the ancient method of lost wax casting. The design finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina.  The Poppy is delicately hand painted in artists oils. Then bronze is then sealed with a special wax which further enhances the colour and protects the bronze for years to come.

Your bronze is beautifully presented in a printed box containing a certificate of authenticity. The bronze is engraved with the sculptor’s signature and limited edition number, matching the certificate enclosed.

This solid bronze statue is crafted using the traditional lost-wax casting method, an ancient technique perfected over thousands of years. This process involves sculpting a detailed wax model, creating a heat-resistant mold, and pouring molten bronze into the cavity left by the melted wax. The result is a finely detailed, solid bronze piece with exceptional durability and craftsmanship.

"

Hi Stephen, Just an hour after your reply re the cheque , my friend rang to say that the frogs had just arrived in Sheffield safe and sound. I would like to thank you for the patience that you have shown me. I would like to say that I would have no hesitation in dealing with you again, and would recommend you to anyone. Thank you again. Barbara Stone

The statue arrived this morning in perfect condition. We bought it for my mum and she was over the moon! Thank you for your quick and professional service. Best wishes

"My Discobolus arrived safely today, well packaged and protected and very promptly. Many thanks for letting me know it was available again. I'm really pleased with it, in fact it's excellent! As I said earlier, I've been looking for one for many years and hadn't found a decent one I could afford. This one is superb. Many versions just don't look right and quite a few seem to be copied from the one in the British Museum, which has the head in the wrong position. HIGHLY DELIGHTED!!"
